Dogtor is a 9yr old terrier x hound mix and is one of the biggest reasons I am the trainer I am today. He isn’t an easy dog and is too smart for his own good, but he has pushed me to improve my skills, get creative with my training, and practice patience. While he is now enjoying the perks of retirement, in his hay day we went on many adventures together. From winning ribbons in the obedience and rally ring, to acting on stage for a play or a national commercial, or even just learning new tricks (to which he knows over 100), we have experienced many things I never imagined when I picked him up as a puppy. Now adays though he is happy keeping the couch warm and playing with my fosters and board and trains.

Luna (or as most of her loved ones call her, Tuna Fish) is a 7yr old Belgian Malinois. Miss Tuna is my good girl and EVERYONE’S best friend. This girl in not only an integal part of Nerdy Dog Training, but she is also my current service dog. When she isn’t helping me train your dog, helping dog test new shelter dogs, or working as a service dog, you can find us playing with her Chuckit ball, playing disc or tug, or training together. Malinois are a very active breed and take a lot of physical and mental stimulation to be happy. However, as her nickname suggests, her all-time favorite pastime is swimming when the weather allows!

Waffles is a 4yr old hound mix and came by her first name honestly. Waffles first came into my home as puppy for foster and train, within the first week it was deemed that while this little lady was the most confident and outgoing puppy, she was also LOUD, sassy, and very opinionated. So, she earned the name Awful Waffles, because you can’t know and love her without loving the awful parts. After being adopted and then returned a year and a half later, then fostering her again for 2yrs I finally admitted this lady wasn’t going anywhere and she became my first Homeward Bound Waggin Alumni! When she isn’t spending time with a friend performing in stunt shows around the country, you can see Waffles helping in classes demonstrating skills or playing with fosters and board and trains.
